Application window open for Claude Moore opportunities healthcare scholarships

Claude Moore Opportunities, a statewide nonprofit focused on healthcare workforce development, is now accepting applications for scholarships to support Fredericksburg, Northern Neck, and Middle Peninsula area students pursuing healthcare careers through the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). Claude Moore and local partners are funding up to three $2,500 scholarships to support students in the region as part of the Virginia Partnership for Health Science Careers, a statewide network of regional healthcare workforce development partnerships organized by Claude Moore.

Plan to transform Washington & Lee into community center moves forward

The old Washington & Lee High School building may no longer serve as a place of education, but it’s quite clear that many in Westmoreland have no intention of letting it slowly fall apart. The building has been put to good use several times in recent years, including as a venue for the Westmoreland Chapter of the Northern Neck Boys & Girls Club and as a dance studio by Hearts In Motion.
