On Wednesday, April 14, Deputy Jacob McKnight received the 2025 Colonial Beach Chamber of Commerce Deputy Sheriff of the Year Award. The recognition and award presentation was part of their Annual Awards Celebration and Dinner held at Pier 909.

Deputy McKnight is a 3-year veteran with the sheriff’s office. According Sheriff C.O. Balderson, he has demonstrated excellence in community relations and law enforcement. He is a certified Field Training Officer and was recognized for his commitment to traffic safety as a recipient of the 2025 Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD) award.

“I commend and express my deepest appreciation for Deputy McKnight’s efforts and hard work. I look forward to his continued dedication to serve our community. Congratulations and job well done,” said Balderson.
