Congratulations on 40 years of service

It is with great pleasure to announce that Darryl S. Doggett Sr., has served as Deacon at Queen Esther Baptist Church, Mollusk, Va, for over 40 years! Darryl was asked to join the Deacon Board at QEBC in 1985, by his pastor, Rev. Dr. Silas B. Holmes. After giving much thought and consideration, Darryl became a “Walking Deacon” and continued his walk for an entire year. After which in March 1986, he was ordained by The Northern Neck Deacon’s Union, to become a Deacon at QEBC. At the early age of 23 he began his journey in the Deacon’s Ministry and learned how to be an aide to the Pastor and serve others. He also became a member of The Northern Neck Deacon’s Union to continue learning his role as a Deacon. Darryl has served under several Pastors down through the years and now is currently serving under the first Women to hold the position of Pastor of QEBC, Pastor Carolyn W. Fisher, a Phenomenal Women of God! Darryl said “I’ve seen a lot of changes throughout the years” but his love for God and serving others have remained the same. Darryl said, “He is honored to be able to serve in the position of Deacon.” His motto he lives by is “If I can help somebody along the way, then my living has not been in Vain! Please help us in Congratulating Deacon Darryl S. Doggett Sr. of Ottoman Va. on serving 40 years as Deacon of QEBC!

Westmoreland Supervisors address questions linked to Taylor’s resignation

It has been almost a month since Jim Taylor resigned from his position at Westmoreland County Administrator. The resignation came in the wake of the discovery that many loans from Rural Development were neglected and the County was dangerously close to defaulting on them. Although the loans were taken care of, the damage was done and a great deal of penalties had accrued.

Back-to-School Vaccination Dates Announced

Three Rivers Health District has again partnered with local school systems to provide back-to-school vaccinations in preparation for the 2026-2027 school year. In addition to vaccination opportunities at the local health department, public health nurses will be coming on-site in the Spring to administer vaccinations required for school admission for rising 7th & 12th graders.
