Fatal Norris Bridge Crash Trial Moved to Spotsy

Jesse Foster, charged in the fatal July 13, 2025, Norris Bridge crash, was once scheduled to stand trial this week in Lancaster Circuit Court. Not only has the date changed, but so has the venue.
Foster will now be tried in Spotsylvania Circuit Court after his defense team successfully moved for a change of venue, arguing he could not receive a fair trial in Lancaster. They cited local news coverage, television coverage, public reaction, and social media posts by the victim’s family and friends.
Lancaster Commonwealth’s Attorney agreed and joined the defense’s motion. The court, finding good cause, approved the change in early May.
According to the order from Judge John S. Martin, Spotsylvania Circuit Court is sufficiently remote from where the alleged offenses were committed to ensure an impartial trial.
Foster has opted for a jury trial, which is scheduled for February 8–12, 2027.
Court records show that Foster has been released on bail.
