Raiders & Red Devils Claim Wins
Last Friday, the Westmoreland Eagles got a taste of the new Rappahannock Raiders in a penalty‑ridden bout of Friday Night Lights at the Eagles’ stadium in Montross. The Eagles, despite being shot down for another loss at home, became the first team of the season to score any points on the Raiders with the game end‑ing 26-6.
Synagro Seeking Major Permit Expansion for Biosolids & WTP Use in RichCo
Synagro Central is seeking to renew its permit to spread biosolids and water treat‑ment plant (WTP) residuals on agricultural and silvicultural land in Richmond County. If approved, the proposed permit would signifi‑cantly expand the amount of land where those materials could be used.

Community benefits showcased at Beach Music Festival
Last weekend, Town Hill Park in Colonial Beach hosted the Colonial Beach Community Foundation’s Northern Neck Beach Music Festival once again. Public meetings scheduled for proposed menhaden regulations
The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) has opened public comment on a draft of new regulations that could substantially change how menhaden are harvested in the Chesapeake Bay, including a potential 50% cut to the Bay harvest cap for the reduction fishery.
