Coffee roastery gets conditional use permit in Colonial Beach

At last week’s Town Council meeting in Colonial Beach, a public hearing was held on whether to grant Robert Busick Jr., a town property owner for the past 25 years, a conditional use permit that would allow the construction of a coffee roastery and coffee bar on a property located at the intersection of Wilder Avenue and Washington Street. The location used to be Margaritas Restaurant.

YMCA in King George hosts ribbon cutting to celebrate renaming

Last Wednesday, a number of Westmoreland County staff hopped over to King George along with a generous portion of the Trivett family to attend a ribbon cutting at the YMCA on Route 3. The ribbon cutting was held in celebration of the Y renaming itself the Trivett Family YMCA, a nod to a family with a long history of support for youth activities, usually through donations.
