Northumberland Public Library received two awards at the Virginia Public Library Directors conference in Harrisonburg on March 20th.

The Virginia Department of Corrections announced it has expanded in person visitation across the Commonwealth, adding 162 tables to restore access that had been scaled back during the COVID 19 pandemic.

No formal action has been taken yet, but discussions are underway between VDOT and Richmond County that could ultimately result in the transfer of Jones Creek Landing to the county.

Although the Northern Neck–Middlesex Free Health Clinic (NNMFHC) reported a very busy and productive prior year that included hiring, expanding services, and strengthening partnerships, the organization didn’t ask for any increase in funding from Lancaster in the FY27 budget.

Centered on the message that there’s a human under every helmet, the campaign urges drivers to keep their eyes out for motorcyclists, share the road, check their blind spots, and make safe choices to help everyone get home safely.
