RHS Praises Teachers of the Year

Rappahannock High School recognized two exceptional educators for their dedication, professionalism, and impact on students. Nicole Syster was named as the 2026 Teacher of the Year and Elizabeth Norris as the 2026 Rookie Teacher of the Year.
Syster, a veteran educator at RHS, was recognized for consistently demonstrated excellence in the classroom while building meaningful relationships with her students. Her commitment to high expectations, engaging instruction, and student success has made her a respected leader among both students and colleagues, RHS Principal Bryan Thrift reported. She exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding educator and represents the very best of Rappahannock High School, he added.
Norris, in her first year of teaching, has made an immediate and lasting impression, noted Thrift. Her enthusiasm, dedication, and passion for education are evident in her work with students each day.. She has quickly established herself as a positive force within the school, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment while demonstrating a strong commitment to professional growth, Thrift also noted.
“These two educators truly represent what it means to be a Raider,” saidThrift. “They put students first, hold high expectations, and work every day to make a difference in the lives of those they serve.”
