VA Declaration of Rights added to annual reading event at Christ Church
Last week, members of the community gathered at Historic Christ Church in Weems— some to read and some to hear—the text of two founding documents: the Declaration of Independence and the Virginia Declaration of Rights, both of which marked their 250th anniversary this year.
VMRC approved intake structure for Caroline’s eminent domain water project
The Virginia Marine Resources Commission (VMRC) approved Caroline County’s request to build an intake structure along the Rappahannock River, a project that involves using farmland acquired by eminent domain.
WPD announces departure & promotion
This week, approximately 2½ years after stepping into the role, Warsaw Police Chief Sean L. Peterson announced his departure, reporting that he is leaving to become Chief of Police at Christopher Newport University, starting on August 3.
