Jackson

Douglas Ray Jackson, lifetime resident of Westmoreland Co., Virginia, passed away at the age of 71 on April 11, 2026. Douglas worked for the Westmoreland Sheriff’s Department for several years. For the past 50 years, Douglas owned and operated Jackson’s Welding near Oak Grove, VA. An accomplished welder, he repaired, fabricated, and did specialty welding. Subcontracting for many building contractors in the area, he supplied ornamental railing, signs, and yard ornamentation.

He is survived by his daughter, April Dawn Lane of Richmond, VA; brothers, McKenzie Lee Jackson of Colonial Beach, VA, and Michael Wayne Jackson of Gloucester, VA; stepson, James W. Sawdy, III of Ottoman, VA, and stepdaughter, Kerry L. Sawdy of Weems, VA; grandson and granddaughter of Richmond, VA; and a step-grandson of Ottoman, VA; nieces and nephews. His former wife, Marianne Jackson, of 32 years was his caregiver until his passing.

A private family service will be held at a later.
