This month, the Colonial Beach School Board recognized Olivia Cooke, Carlyn Middleton, Jocelyn McGinniss, Nicole Rosier, Josie Carpenter, Emory Steffey, Lilian Plunkett, Jasiah Cole, Harmony Roy, Jaleel Bui, William Christian, Zachary Papanicolas, Logan Dales, and Bret Barrett for maintaining a GPA above 3.5.

Last weekend, Lancaster County hosted the grand opening of Harper’s Creek Park and Working Waterfront Complex, a new public access site created through a public‑private partnership between Lancaster County and Stay the Course.

Last Wednesday, Garner’s Produce hosted an event to celebrate the construction of a commercial kitchen next to its farm stand on Kings Highway. The new facility will provide local agricultural processing capacity and strengthen opportunities for value‑added farm production in Westmoreland, a move expected to support local producers and bolster the County’s agricultural commerce.

Having reached the remarkable age of 100, Margaret Parr was welcomed into Richmond County’s Centenarian Group by the Board of Supervisors, who publicly recognized her as a cher‑ished member of the community.

Bobby Reamy and Eddie Weston are two figures in Westmoreland County who could be considered synonymous with the spirit of volunteerism. Members of the Westmoreland Volunteer Fire Department for as long as almost anyone can remember, the two have over a century of experience between them– 111 combined years—and have helped save countless lives while serving in the WVFD in several capacities.

It’s National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. Like many other localities across the Commonwealth and the country, last week the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution recognizing this event.
