District 1 hopeful visits Colonial Beach
Last year, Westmoreland County was introduced to Lisa Khanna, a challenger to Congressman Rob Wittman’s seat in the 1st Congressional District, a spot Wittman has comfortably occupied for over a decade. As it turns out, Khanna would not be the only one seeking to unseat the Montross native. Last Sunday, Shannon Taylor, the three-term Commonwealth’s Attorney for Henrico County paid a visit to Colonial Beach.

Colonial Beach recognizes importance of small biz & tourism
Colonial Beach is what some might call “a summer town.” A substantial portion of its revenue comes from out-of-towners dropping in to enjoy the numerous charms, chief among them the pub‑lic beach that stretches along the Potomac. The Town gave recognition to this last week during a work session.

Colonial Beach approves communication tower
The saga of the proposed communications tower for Colonial Beach has been a slow and steady back‑and‑forth between the Town Council and the Planning Commission, with public hearings followed by revisions, and then more public hearings on those revisions. Last week, it finally reached its conclusion with a unanimous approval from the Town Council.
