Trial for fatal Norris Bridge crash moved to June

The jury trial for a Lancaster County man charged in a double fatal crash on the Norris Bridge has been pushed to June.
The crash occurred July 13, 2025, killing Crystal Michelle Lyles, 42, of White Stone, who was a passenger in Jesse Foster’s vehicle, and Ernesto Santiago, 53, of Hampton, who was driving the second vehicle involved.
Foster, who was also seriously injured, was arrested on September 19 and is facing multiple charges, including DUI: second offense in five years, reckless driving resulting in death while having a suspended license, reckless involuntary DUI manslaughter, and aggravated manslaughter.
Foster’s four day jury trial had been scheduled to begin Monday, March 2. His defense team filed a motion last month seeking a continuance, noting that they submitted a discovery request to the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office on November 20 but, as of January 29, 2026, the Commonwealth reported that discovery was still ongoing and additional material would be provided later. The defense argued that the incomplete discovery and limited preparation time would likely prejudice their client.
Over the Commonwealth’s objection, the court granted the continuance. The trial is now set for June 9–12.
The court also ordered the Commonwealth to provide the defense with discovery materials, including written and recorded statements made by Foster, any oral statements he gave to law enforcement, his criminal record, and any exculpatory evidence the Commonwealth’s has in its possession or has knowledge of.
Foster is represented by Anna Lindemann of Bowen, Clements, Lindemann & Scott and Matthew Gayle of Hubbard & Haynie.
