It wasn’t too long ago that St. Margaret’s School—an institution that had been part of Tappahannock’s history for more than a century— was shut down against the wishes of both local residents and its governing board by the Church Schools in the Diocese of Virginia (CSDV). The school’s final attempt to remain open, a lawsuit filed earlier this year, was dismissed in April, clearing the way for the closure.
