It’s Halloween Time in Westmoreland
Colonial Beach got its first taste of Halloween last Saturday with the annual Fall Festival and golf cart parade along Washington Avenue, where occupants launched fistfuls of candy at waving onlookers. A costume contest was also held, and those who gathered on Town Hill enjoyed vendors, food trucks, and games.

Montross Fall Festival Calls it Quits Amid Rain
The Montross Fall Festival Committee received an unpleasant reminder that almost anything can be planned for except the weather. The Montross Fall Festival closed down early as bitterly cold wind and rain rolled in shortly after the opening cere‑monies Despite the initial cloud cover, the morning started off warm and things looked optimistic. Vendors set up their tents across the Montross down‑town area before Mayor Joey King and David Parr gave their opening announcements.

This past weekend, a horde of people descended upon Stratford Hall’s Oyster & Wine Festival to sample an assortment of wine and vast amounts of oysters, one of the foods most often associated with the Northern Neck.

Stratford Hall adds new offerings to Wine & Oyster Festival

Time for Beach Music Fest nears

Westmoreland’s National Night Out draws massive crowd
Last Tuesday, National Night Out was celebrated across the nation. Here in Westmoreland County, the Sheriff’s Office once again broke out the grill and the hot dogs and hosted a massive cookout at Stan’s Skateland, drawing in a huge crowd despite the looming threat of scattered showers.
