Last week, King George Sheriff’s Office and guests participated in the Virginia Special Olympics Torch Run and Feet Meet event.

Runners escorted the torch into the high school football stadium and then the games began. Athletes were paired with high school students who helped at each game station.

“We look forward to this day every year and want to thank all the sponsors and volunteers who contributed and made this event possible,” said King George Sheriff’s Office.

In partnership with Special Olympics, this event creates safe, fun opportunities for students of all abilities to participate, connect, and succeed, helping build healthier, more inclusive school communities, said King George Public Schools.
