The Rappahannock Raiders inducted five new members, Terry Bain, Dickie Brooks, Keith Bryant, Ed Smith, and James ‘Jimmy’ Sumiel, into their Hall of Fame on Friday, October 11. Terry Bain was a member of the class of 1982; she was a three-sport basketball, softball, track and field athlete and earned 12 varsity letters. In basketball, Terry was all district three straight years, track and field she was a regional qualifier in the shot put and discus throws. She attended Mary Washington College to play softball and started at catcher for four years; Terry was voted team MVP in 1984. After college, she has umpired softball for five years, volleyball for 20, and served as the commissioner of the Northern Neck Volleyball Officials for 15 years. Dickie Brooks was in the class of 1966; he lettered in three sport basketball, baseball, track and field. He was a two-time Virginia State Champion in the 1-mile run, the first State Champion in Rappahannock history.
