The Northumberland Academic team took their traveling group the road Monday the sixteenth at Essex. In matches there they lost to Colonial Beach and Rappahannock High (Warsaw). The Indians team is made up of mostly of sophomores and is in a learning phase within the Northern Neck District. They will next be in action on January 6 with a trip to W&L.

The Lady Indians basketball teams, both varsity and JV closed out the first part of their season last week with two games. On Monday, the varsity lost to 3A York High, 65-35. The JV girls also lost 31-16. Tanaya Seldon led the Indian’s varsity  scoring with twelve, Ke’Najah Johnson scored ten.

On Thursday, Charles City County came to visit. The JV team was able to put together a 26-19 win for their second this year. The varsity ladies were leading by three at intermission. At that point they exploded for thirty second half points to take a 53-36 win into the Christmas break.
