Robert Kennon Bowen

Robert Kennon Bowen, 47, of Colonial Beach died unexpectedly on October 2, 2021 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. His loss was completely unexpected and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.

Kennon was born to Raymond Bowen (deceased) and Debbie Bowen of Montross. Kennon leaves behind his wife of 21 years, Kasey, his son, Kamden, and step-daughter, Alexis Holmes. He is also survived by his brother, Eddie Bowen (Becky) of Montross, their children, Zach, Nick and Brooke, as well as his grandmother, Beatrice Jones.

Kennon was a multi-talented individual, who was passionate about tractor-trailers and motorcycles. He had a huge heart, and he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His love for big rigs began with his grandfather, F.E. Jones and continued with his Uncle Johnny. He loved being on the water fishing, boating, and riding his jet ski. He got the racing bug from his Uncle David, who carried him to the track as a youngster.

Kennon spent most of his life driving big rigs, and at the time of his passing, he was the co-owner and operator of K&K Hauling. Anyone who knew Kennon, knew that they were in the presence of a kind-hearted, intelligent person. He loved spending time with family, friends, and his dogs, Chopper and Peanut. Kennon’s family and friends will miss him more than words can say.

Contributions in memory of Kennon Bowen can be made to Westmoreland County Animal Shelter. Visitation will be from 1 p.m., and the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 7th at Welch’s Funeral Home in Montross.
