The Tappahannock Police Department has arrested a local man with multiple felonies following a search warrant. According to Captain J.H. Siddons, Darrell L. Cosby, 51, of Tappahannock was charged with multiple drug and firearm related felonies after officers discovered the items during the execution of a search warrant at Cosby’s residence. “I’d like to thank the state police and Essex Sheriff’s Office for their help with this case,” said Chief James G. Ashworth, Jr. “The residents, businesses, and visitors of Tappahannock don’t want this kind of activity and we are making it a priority to rid the town of narcotics trafficking,” Ashworth added.
Cosby’s charges include one count of possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule I or II drug, two counts of possession of a firearm by felon, and two counts of possession of a firearm with drugs. This case remains under investigation and additional charges are possible. Cosby is being held at the Middle Peninsula Regional Security Center awaiting trial.
