Colonial Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad’s Senior & Junior squads and Support Team are asking the community for donations of supplies for two upcoming service projects.

On November 12, CBVRS members will pack shoeboxes full of toys, craft and coloring materials and personal care items that Samaritan’s Purse will distribute to children in need around the world. For a list of items needed/not needed for ages 2-14, visit No liquids or toothpaste, please. Drop off supplies ASAP at the CBVRS station, 225 Dennison St.

Also, CBVRS is requesting laundry supplies for their Loads of Love project. Bring donations of laundry baskets, laundry detergents and dryer sheets to the CBVRS station, 225 Dennison St., by Friday, November 27. Squad members will assemble baskets with the supplies and give these Loads of Love to people coming to the laundromat by Hall’s Supermarket during the weekend after Thanksgiving.
