When she was five-years-old the music bug hit Jadyn McGinniss of Colonial Beach. The young rhythm and blues singer who released her first single earlier this year began her love of music in church.
In fact, she started at Good Hope Baptist Church in King George and has been singing ever since. At 15 years of age and finishing her freshman year in high school, McGinniss is a dynamo soulful singer.
The middle of five daughters of Sherika and Jason McGinniss, Jadyn credits her Grandmother, Audra Lucas, for all her support, as well as the rest of her family.
Her first single, a cover of SWV’s “I’m So Into You” was recorded at Face Studios in Maryland earlier this year.
Jadyn also covers the SWV song, “Rain on Me” on the two song CD in her media package.
Not only does Jadyn hope to someday do more with her music career but she is also looking toward the future as a possible physical therapist.
Her other interests include playing basketball at Colonial Beach High School and in a normal year, where the COVID-19 pandemic has not ended school, playing softball as well.
Jadyn continues to sing with her church with the youth choir, New Worship and Women’s choir. She has sang at other local venues including Music on the Green in Fredericksburg, several corporate functions and fashion shows.
Not only is Jadyn multi-talented but also beautiful. Besides being a singer, athlete and intelligent young woman she is also working toward doing some modeling in the future.
Jadyn McGinniss’ music can be found on CDBaby.com. The Northern Neck Region has been the home of Presidents, (George Washington, James Monroe, James Madison,) football stars Torrey Smith and Jermon Bushrod, as well as singer Chris Brown; whose to say that McGinniss isn’t the next big thing to come from the region?
