The Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck recently secured a new location for their Northumberland unit at 740 Jessie DuPont Memorial Highway, Burgess. The new site is anticipated to welcome youth this month—March 21, just in time for spring break.

For the last two years, the Northumberland unit was housed within First Baptist Church and Macedonia Baptist Church in Heathsville. “We are incredibly thankful for our partnerships with Macedonia and First Baptist,” said executive director Philip Mumford. “Our successes in Northumberland would not have been possible without them. They have positioned us for growth and this new, larger space will allow that. We are excited to have the opportunity to serve more youth in Northumberland County.”

The Club is also excited to announce that Richie Carter is the new Northumberland program director. Carter has over 14 years of experience working with Boys & Girls Clubs in Virginia. He has been with BGCNN for more than five of those years. Carter is a passionate and caring professional who embodies the mission of the club.
