‘Abstract Show’  uses the visual language of shape, form, color, and line which may exist with a degree of independence from visual reality. November 5: ‘Beginning Alcohol Inks, Level I’   Alcohol Inks are a form of painting with special inks containing an alcohol base on a non-porous surface. You don’t need to be an artist to enjoy this type of painting, but beware! Once you start, it can be addicting! ‘Open Studio Painting’ Open to artists of ALL levels to work in any medium except oils (unless you are not using solvents). A Still Life will be set up for you to paint from 6-8:30 pm, but you’re welcome to bring your own objects or photographs to work from. ‘Beginning Alcohol Inks, Level II’ Attendees of this class should have experience with handling Alcohol Inks. Techniques learned in Level I will be expanded upon in the workshop 1-4 p.m. Join instructor, Joan Willoughby, and learn to paint with more realism, using color theory and more colors than those used in Level I. Paint Night “The Pine Tree at St. Tropez” November’s Paint Night is for the beginner or experimental artist. Join local art teacher, Marilyn Sprouse, 6:30-8:30, for an evening of artistic play using only Q-Tips® in a style of art called pointillism (dots!) while creating “The Pine Tree at St. Tropez” by Paul Signac (1909). ‘Holiday Flower Arrangements’ workshop. What a great opportunity to learn how the unique flower arrangements featured at RAL Art Center’s Opening Receptions and special events are created! Instructor Sue Ramsey, will share her special talents for creating beautiful arrangements in a variety of imaginative vessels, from 10-12 p.m. Participants should bring 2 vessels of your choice – one should be for a low centerpiece and one should be for an arrangement viewed from one side.
