The LillyWood Ranch Cowboy Church monthly gathering from 6 – 7 p.m, at the Northumberland County Library, 7204 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville. Cowboy Church is a no frills, back to basics, come as you are get-together. You don’t join or sign on, you just show up. There are no offerings collected. The only finger pointing is at the cross. Get Out The Vote, for the March 3rd Presidential Primary Election for the Democratic nominee for President, will be the focus of the Lancaster County Democratic Committee’s (LCDC) meeting at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Towne Centre Dr., Kilmarnock. Refreshments are available at 6:30 p.m. Meeting starts at 7 p.m.

Rappahannock Chapter, Daughters of the War of 1812 meet at 1 p.m. in the Bayne Center at historic Christ Church, 420 Christ Church Road, Weems. Guest speaker, Lois Williams, presents ‘Virginia’s Escaping Slaves During the War of 1812.’ Prior to the meeting, there will be a no-host brown bag lunch at 11:30 in the Center. Info: 804-438-6276.

Singer/songwriter and Northern Neck native Shane Cooley will perform with his band at Willaby’s, 327 Old Ferry Rd in White Stone. Cooley’s new acoustic collection, 50 Songs, will be available at the show as a 3-disc CD. Music is from 8-11 p.m. No cover charge.

February 4

The Northern Neck Chapter 1823 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) Association meets at 1:00 p.m. at the Backdraft, 7415 Oldhams Rd, Kinsale;   order off the menu. After lunch, Peggy Patterson Garland will discuss her recent book which is a fictionalized biography of Robert “Councillor” Carter III. Executive board will meet at noon.
